SOMERSET LIFE & RHUBARB PIE

OH NO - MY MAGAZINE
I was so excited to get my latest copy of Somerset Life in the mail but oh dear, look what happened. It got water damaged on it's way way to Australia.
I emailed Customer Service (with a couple of pics) just to let them know what happened in case they wanted to change their packaging.

See the water damage

I oh so slowly prised the pages apart with a knife.
Looks a bit tattered doesn't it.

Linda Wood a Customer Service Representative emailed letting me know that they would send me another copy. That was so nice of them. Something I didn't really expect.
So below you see my new copy of Somerset Life.
I emailed them on the 1st October and had my new magazine by 6th October.
That is fabulous service seeing as it had to come all the way to Australia

MAX'S RHUBARB PIE

Look what Max turned my rhubarb into.

Yummy rhubarb pie - tasted fabulous with a little ice cream.

Good for them AND you, sugar! Jack loves rhubarb over vanilla ice cream but I can't stand the taste of it. He'd swim the Pacific to visit you for a pie like that though...LOL

Connie

Do I see a rosy red theme emerging? Yum rhubarb. Just the thought of it makes me pucker up, but I love it none the less.

Glad you got a new issue Alison. Are those houses people stay in at the beach on your header? Amazing photo, I love it! I live really close to the ocean too, and ride my bike by it everyday. Take care, Martha

Hi Alison

Sad about the soggy magazine, great they replaced it and rightly so.

I could smell that delicious pie cooking from over here - yummy!!! I haven't had rhubarb for years, used to hate it when I was a kid, love it now though, funny how your taste buds change

I'm dismayed that Coastal Living no longer arrives wrapped in plastic. I so looked forward to a pristine magazine (with the shipping label on the plastic rather than the mag). Am sure it's a nod to the economic times... (sigh).

So I'm sitting here wondering how someone reaches my age without ever trying rhubarb. I haven't a clue what it tastes like. But it sure makes a pretty pie!

Hi Alison
Oh your rhubarb pie looks yummy :-)
I love ALL the Somerset publications too ...I even have a "special" magazine rack to display them so they don't get bent :-) how fabulous that you were sent a new "perfect" copy! Enjoy ♥

The rhubarb pie looks delicious! A lot of times I don't want to go to the trouble of making a whole pie ...so I'll just make a cobbler! It's great with vanilla ice cream!

Let me tell you ...those Somerset people are something else. What great service. Now you can enjoy your new copy at your leisure and perhaps with a cup of tea!

Hey Alison,
Nice rhubarb pie a la Max. Please tell him I said so. I only know one other man who bakes pie, apple.

Nice that you got a new mag too!

I imagine getting something to Australia is much easier than getting it to Kuwait. I had one magazine subscription in the past and customer service was great because quite often the magazine didn't show up. I finally just gave up on ever getting anything as the mail service here is quite bad. I received boxes in the past that had a lot of water damage and Kuwait doesn't even get that much rain, but when it does, no one knows what to do. Your pie looks delish! Nothing like a fresh baked pie with vanilla ice cream. Yummo! :) Have a great weekend. Tammy

Somerset seems to be such a great company, so glad that your magazine was replaced so quickly. I love these treasures, and I roam the shops awaiting the latest issues. Your pie is making me hungry.
Happy weekend.

My husband LOOOOVES Rhubarb pie...we used to have a Rhubarb plant when we lived in the Midwest..we've lived down South now for 20+ years so he hasn't had any in forever!!
Don't you hate when you get your magazines damaged like that in the mail? UGH!

I just got my new "Victoria" magazine today and when I took off their cover for it...it damaged my cover of the magazine. UGH. That makes me crazy too because it was the special "Christmas" issue. Now I might just have to go buy one off the shelf because I like to keep those for display and such through the years.

Good to hear from you.....can't believe it's SPRING there. HA!
