7 RANDOM THINGS

I HAVE BEEN TAGGED - 7 Random Things
I have been tagged by Ali at Alis Spot.
Here is how it works. Once tagged, you give 7 random things about yourself that no one knows and then you tag 7 more bloggers to continue the tag. Then contact each one that you have tagged to let them know.
1. I am scared of heights because as a child my father and siblings would leave me stranded in the middle of a Swing Bridge (I think it was at the bottom of Bell or Gaffney Streets in Pascoe Vale, Victoria many moons ago)and rock it from side to side to make me cry - mean isn't it.
2. My favourite Dessert is Apple Crumble and Cream.
3. I am terrified of the Dentist and his needles and would rather give birth than visit the Dentist.
4. I have cupboards full of unfinished projects. This year was going to be the one when I actually got around to finishing them all off. I better get a move on.
5. I can not stand drinking out of plastic glasses - it tastes yucky. A glass just has to be glass.
6. I have inherited my Fathers ugly toes with a very unfeminne looking big toe! Gross!!
7. I am sleep deprived ( so says the Doctor). What can you do when your husband snores like a ... a...... oh I don't know how to describe it but its very.. very.... very loud. So I just get up and check stuff out on the computer or iron or read. Anything to try and feel really, really tired. I guess I have been getting about 3 or 4 hours sleep a night for 25 to 30 years now. Oh well, such is life.
Now to tag 7 more bloggers. I hope you haven't already been tagged.
So lets all check out what they have to say once they post their 7 Random Things.

I GOT AN AWARD- The Power to Schmooze

The Power to Schmooze Award
How wonderful. Blogland is a fun, friendly place to be. I won an award from Michelle at Faerie Dust Dreams. Thank you Michelle. The following explains the award.
As Michelle says The Power of Schmooze Award is for bloggers who effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way. They don’t limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well. They are the ones who engage others in meaningful conversations, refusing to let it end at a mere hello - all the while fostering a sense of closeness and friendship.
What a great description of Blogland.
Now I must pass this award some more fun people.
First off Natasha at Natasha Burns Artistic Creations, Shannon at Paint Mine Pink,Gail at Originals by Gail & Tony McCormack and Katrina at Little La Las.
Thank you all for making Blogland fun.

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY

Today is my Birthday and all of my family are coming home for dinner.
First of all I am off to the Wednesday Market at Mornington to meet my friend Lyn for lunch.
This afternoon I will then organise some easy fingerfood for our dinner tonight and then just wait for them all to drift in.
It is wonderful when everyone is together. So many conversations going on it is hard to keep up with it all.

SNEAK PEEK AT Paper Dresses

PAPER DRESS SWAP DRESSES ARE READY TO GO

Looks like my Paper Dress Swap dresses are ready to be mailed out to Tine. Tine lives in Berlin, Germany.
I really enjoyed making the paper dresses - I made 6 and then decided which ones to send to Tine.
One is a Halloween style dress and the other just a Little Girls Party Dress. The Little Girls dress is my favourite ~ but that could have something to do with the colouring of the dress.
I thought I would just give a sneak peak in case Tine checks out my blog.
Tomorrow they will be wrapped and on their way.
Thanks to Heather for hosting the Paper Dress Swap

25 DAYS TO GO - NOT THAT I'M COUNTING

GRANDCHILD NUMBER 3 WILL SOON BE HERE

25 Days to go before the due date of Amy's 1st baby. Lucky she doesn't know I have a blog or I would be in trouble for putting this photo on that I took last night at about 9 o'clock(not the most flattering photo but that's life). She is getting very tired and thankfully finishes work tomorrow.
We call her baby the 'R' Baby as if it is a girl she will be called Ruby after my Mum(Amy's Grandma) who has passed away- or Riley for a boy.
Amy and Ryan are both getting really excited about their baby. Me too, as I get to go in and help out at the delivery!!

THE BABY SHOWER IS OVER

I NEED A CUP OF TEA

Getting ready for this baby Shower was sooo… time consuming.
There were 33 lovley ladies there.
Games and prizes to organise.
Food to prepare.
Now it’s over and I am home.
Oh me, oh my, I need a cup of tea.
In case you never realised by some of my pics. Pink is one of my favourite colours.
I bought this pair of pink pretties at the Mornington Antique Centre. I just love the way you can put your biscuit on the side.
The jam drop biscuits are one of Max’s all time favourites.
I love to light some candles as I just think they look so pretty.

BAKING FOR THE TEA PARTY – WELL NOT REALLY

BAKING FOR THE TEA PARTY – WELL NOT REALLY

Today there was no time for a Tea party. I had a cake to bake.
It was a Nappy (diaper) Cake.
On Saturday I am giving my daughter Amy a baby Shower (baby is due 15th October).
So I thought I would ‘bake’ a cake.

I really love how it has turned out.
The baby on top and the little babies around the 2nd and 3rd layer originally had bright blue nappies(diapers) and suit. Of course that did not go with my theme so out came the left over paint from when I painted Amy’s nursery furniture. Perfect colour.
There is also a cute little brush and comb on top.
Dotted with little roses and of course pale green flowers it looks gorgeous.
The 2nd layer of ribbon around the middle layer has cute little footprints on it.
The back of the cake has a cute little suit on it ~ pale green of course.

I hope you all enjoyed looking at what I baked today.

ANOTHER MAKE MINE PINK TEA PARTY

TEA FOR ME – JUST ME

I really love a great Tea party but sometimes I just like to set up a nice little Tea Party just for me.
Today it’s cold and wet – where has that gorgeous Spring weather gone!
Soo…. today it is one of those days that you just want to sit back with a cup of tea and read a good book.
Out comes my favourite green cup filled with calming chamomile tea.
Some yummy Chocolate Coated Finger Biscuits on my plate ~ oh I’m in heaven.
My rose scented candles are lit ~ smells soo.... sweet.
Just for an hour ~ I’m sure that’s all ~ reading for a whole hour – all alone.
Oh yeh ~ I am in heaven.
I am just picking up my book…….

I love the Lily of the Valley on this cup and my little green anodised teapot is perfect when making tea ~ just for me

PAINT MINE PINK'S TEA PARTY STARTS TODAY

TEA FOR TWO
Today is the start of Make Mine Pink Blog Tea party.
Welcome to my Tea for Two
I am making these cups of tea for Max and I in memory of my beloved Grandma.
Grandma and I would always use these pretty pink and blue trios (just love the roses inside the cup) when we would get together for a cuppa. They belonged to her.
She would make some yummy Ginger Kisses (a ginger sponge filled with a yummy cream) and we would sit and talk forever.
These pretty Rose cups/saucer/plates are a lovely reminder to me of long ago and a wonderful woman that I loved dearly.

LOVE SPRING

BEAUTIFUL BLOSSOMS
I just love this photo I took today. Beautiful blue sky and gorgeous white blossom.
Spring is a wonderful time of year.
Well Max is a happy man. He went to the MCG in Melbourne tonight and saw his football team Collingwood beat Sydney. Nothing better than a Victorian team knocking an interstate team out of the finals. Just a shame it was Collingwood that did it. Not my favouite team but I can just envisage Max driving home now with a great big smile on his face. He'll be home about midnight.

I HAVE BEEN TAGGED

I have been tagged by Natasha with the Name Game tag.
Here are the rules:you must state the rules before you state the facts. The facts are to name one thing relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you do not have a middle name then you choose the middle name that you wish you had. Then you tag one person for each letter of your middle name and let them know they have been tagged. Why did I have to have the same middle name as my Aunt - way tooo.. many letters.
My middle name is Margaret.

M - Melanie my 1st born daughter and Michael my 4th child
A - Amy my 2nd child who is due to have a baby on 15th October
R - Roses - I just love roses, especially Iceberg Roses that flower forever
G - is for Grandma, thats me and I love being a Grandma
A - my first name starts with A
R - remember - I better remember to list Daniel child number 3 or I will be in trouble
E - everyone in blogland I just love reading blogs
T - is for tagging, now who will it be?????
8 lucky ladies cos Margaret has 8 letters Now 8 lucky ladies - who will it be???

OK ladies I tag ~ Shannon from Paint Mine Pink, Coll from Collsgarden, Peta from Pretty in Pink, Katrina from Little La Las, Siobhan from Vintage Mosaics, Gail from Gail and Tony McCormack, Ele from a Bit of Pink Heaven and Stephanie from Angelic Accents.

Now for a photo. I picked up this old cabinet that should have had a leadlight door. It was dark stained and flaky. So out came the sand paper and white paint. Now a sweet little cabinet to display some crystal and cut glass goodies. the lamp on top was my first ever effort at covering an old lamp shade. I love how pretty the crystal looks inside the white painted cabinet.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DEAR MAX

IT'S GRANDMADADDY'S BIRTHDAY

Today is the wonderful Max's birthday. This is a photo of Max with Lachlan and Chloe when they went on the Steam Train from Mt Eliza to Mornington. It was Lachlan and Chloe's first train trip and they loved it.
Lachlan and Chloe call Max Grandmadaddy as when Lachlan was first learning to talk he could say Grandma but not Grandad so some how Max turned into Grandmadaddy and that is who he'll stay.

COTTON N CANDY SWAP.

Check out what the Postman brought for me yesterday!! Look at what my swap partner Liz from http://elizabethgwenoriginals.blogspot.com/ sent for me.

Liz made me a gorgeous red and floral cotton clutch purse. She also got me some sweet little crocheted cotton slippers and a beautiful Shabby Chic Teddy Bear. Some very yummy looking candies ~ Vanilla Cow Tales (Chewy Caramel with a cream centre), Jujy Fruits(Chewy fruity Candy) and Jelly Belly Mint Creams. Thanks Liz. I hope you like the contents of the parcel I sent to you. Shannon thanks for organising the swap. We tried out the Vanilla Cow Tales last night while we watched Collingwood lose another game of football. They were delicious but very sweet. Something yummy to have with a cup of tea.

THIS IS WHAT I SENT TO LIZ

I sent Liz some yummy chocolates because chocolate is her favourite candy. I also put in some chocolate scented candles.I made some lavender scented cushions and a cute Christmas star decoration and a pretty pink with white polka dots tea towel.
We both mailed our parcels on the same day and also received them the same day.
