SORRENTO

A FINE WINTER'S AFTERNOON
Late this afternoon we went to Sorrento just for a couple of hours. Sometimes it is a nice break away from home just to go for a coffee and a wander.
There are so many places just half an hours drive away from home.
After wandering up and down the Main Street going in and out of various shops we got a take away coffee and went to watch the Queenscliff ferry come in.

Of course the seagulls stopped by for a visit in case
we had something to feed them as we got out of the car

Here comes the ferry. If we had have been there earlier we would have caught the ferry to Queenscliff but it was just too late in the afternoon to make it worthwhile. We will save that for another day and go mid morning.

Such a pretty spot.

Love this shot under the pier

We then went to the Sorrento back (ocean) beach.
Lots of little family groups having fun

Then off to our favourite spot Murrays Lookout to see the sunset.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Sugar, that looks like a wonderful place to wanted off to. I especially like the color of the water under the pier. I've always said the best pictures on the web come from women in California and Australia, sweetpea! Must be something to do with the light.........

Dear Allison,
I love that shot under the pier. You should sell this photograph on Etsy and it would make wonderful note cards as well.
Thank you for visiting my blog. Had lots of company this summer so I did not blog much. Have a great day.

Alison, I think you've just spent the perfect afternoon.....or so it seems to one who lives in a "land locked" situation, like me. It takes us hours, and hours to reach a beach. Your photos are stunning. How peaceful to watch the sun set over the ocean. Thanks for taking us along.

Best Wishes,
Kay

I love Sorrento, you're so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of our state :)
The ferry brings back memories, we caught it with the dog in the car once, when he was a puppy - it's been so long since we've done that ferry ride!
