BEAUTIFUL WINTERS DAY

SUNSHINE IN MELBOURNE
Look at that beautiful sunshine glistening on the water
on this sensational Melbourne Winters Day.
Make sure to click on the photos to enlarge them

Today Max and I went to Melbourne (just over an hours drive away) as Max had a job interview. Fingers crossed that he will get this one. He was retrenched in October and has since then only managed to pick up a few small contract jobs.
EDIT - Laura asked what retrenched was - so I figured maybe others didn't know.
This is a definition from the web -retrenchment - Whereby an employee is dismissed because the employer has made a definite decision that they no longer require the job you are doing.
On our way home we went to St Kilda and had lunch at the beach.
Loved the colour of this boat

You can see the buildings in Melbourne in the background behind all those masts.

St Kilda Pier is quite long.
Click here for some information on the area.

There is even a cute little bridge next to the childrens Rotary Club Playground
Max had to pose for this photo for you all

What a lovely day indeed. Your photos do it justice. Very nice. How can Max not find good luck on such a beautiful day in such a beautiful place, with his beautiful wife. I see good luck and good times for you. What does retrenched mean exactly besides that it causes on to need to interview?

Laura this is the definition of Retrenchment - Whereby an employee is dismissed because the employer has made a definite decision that they no longer require the job you are doing.
So basically they were cutting down on staff numbers and he was one of the unlucky ones to lose his job

What fabulous photographs. Here in the U.K. we are having a heatwave (hard to believe, I know) and I know it's winter over there, it seems odd that we are having temperatures of 32C. All the best on the job front. XXXX

Alison,
Your photographs are beautiful. Melbourne is on my list of my favorite wish places to visit. I did visit Sydney once, but it just made me want to see more of Australia. I must have looked like I fit in though, people on the street were asking me for directions.

What a beautiful Winter's day. I will say a prayer that Max gets that job. Do you have to travel far to get to the city, or is it an easy commute

Have a lovely day.
