MARCH OUT KAPOOKA

On the weekend we went to Wagga Wagga to Kapooka to see Michael in the
March Out Parade
He has joined the Army Reserve
The weather was terrible on the day of the March Out - it rained and rained and RAINED!!

Here are Max and I with Michael

Look at this rain
They kept them standing in the rain forever Enlarge the photo to see them standing at the back

If you enlarge this one you can see the raindrops

Here he was marching past us. He says he was looking at the guttering of the area we were sitting in as he knew if he saw us he would start smiling

His partner Chantelle was so happy to see him again after being gone for 29 days

She couldn't get enough of these kisses

Hi Alison, wasn't the weather awful?!! I was thinking of you! Yes I know where you stayed, just around the corner from my work. Oh you must be so proud of him though. Have a great day :)

What a great looking couple they make. Rain well living in the pacific NW I know what you mean. I wish the world would just be at peace, so we would not need for our children to go into the military. That's this mothers prayer.

Lovely post Alison, and that is a gorgeous version of "Raindrops" by B J Thomas which took me back so many years (I think to the film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid?)

Hi Alison,

You must be so proud of your son. He certainly has a beautiful partner. Sorry the weather was so terrible. So glad that you, Max and your son's girlfriend could get to see him rain or shine.

Terrible weather! They are cute together. You must be proud of him as he must be his own person! Thanks for stopping by! I haven't been around much but I plan to remedy that.

What bad luck with the weather! We lived in Wagga Wagga for 2 years and it hardly ever rained...apart from the days when we were laying our roll out turf! Glad the weather didn't dull the occasion for you.

Oh my -- what a most wonderful post -- minus the rain! How proud you must be of him! We periodically receive letters from soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan from other countries that received our care packages -- I think it is so wonderful to be able to come together to support them all. If he should ever be in a place where he would like to have a care package from our organization, we would love to send him one. Hopefully, he won't be called to deploy though :)

All the best to you,
Rosalyn-Sue

Hi Alison, my name is Natasha & I am a friend of Katrina's. I noticed in one of your comments on Katrinas blog that you had a son that marched out of Kapooka in Feb... Just so happens that I work out at Kapooka in the recruits mess. I was actually working up at the Edmonson Club that day your son marched out, I remember feeling sorry for those poor recruits having to do it in the rain...
