SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
School holidays here for us usually mean a few babysitting days. Lachlan and Chloe came and had a few sleepovers with us. Of course we went to the beach - they took a bag each to pick up special stones, shells and sea glass.
Here they are walking along our poor beach that with so much sand lost during the rough weather that we have this yucky black sandy stuff there as well.
The loved posing for a photo on these rocks
Had fun writing their names in the sand
Hope everyone is enjoying Waterside Wednesday that Barbara Jacksier is hosting on her blog.

Will they come and put some new sand down at all Alison?
It is a shame, it looks like such a lovely beach, you are so lucky, and your grandchildren are growing fast!

Looks like everyone was having fun.I love taking the g'kids to the beacg and watching them enjoy it!
Perhaps it will replenish itself over a period of time. The sweet kiddoes certainly make it seem less bleak :-)
How fun for you!!!! ( I love the name Lachlan!!!!)

It is still a lovely beach. Being there with your family makes it even sweeter
I will take your beach black sand and all. It is is in the 100's here this week. Seems like fall will never come. I hope that you are far away from the dust storms we've been reading about Alison!!
ohhh what a lovely day. I so wish I lived closer to the ocean. I bet the kids had so much fun picking up shells and writing their names in the sand.

I have been visiting all sorts of inspiring home-decorating blogs this evening. And then, after growing a little overwhelmed, I came across your blog inspiring peace. Ahhhhh...if only I could dip my feet in the cold ocean and watch the sunset.
Oh I love the beach. You are fortunate to live so close to the sea! Sending love...rebecca
What a perfect day! Your children are adorable!!! There is something special about spending the day at the beach...no matter what age.

Hi Alison
Sorry I am late.. only just put up my wednesday post due to the dust storm
Love these images. So sweet to see children enjoying these simple pleasures and their names in the sand are great pics.. you should frame them for them!
Have a great week. x Julie
Your beach still looks great. Wish I was there playing in the sand with the kids. We've had bad storms on our East Coast with severe flooding. Not fun!
Like everybody here I wish I could have been there with you. I love to look for shells! Last time I was looking for seaglass, walked 15 kilometers down the beach, but didn't find one piece of seaglass, glass yes, sharp and shiny. :-(
I love seeing photos of families on the beach, it always brings a smile to my face.
Hi Alison
Your grandkids are lucky to have you and Max - as of course you are to have them - they are adorable
