HOME AGAIN

NO PLACE LIKE HOME

After a rush trip with a 2 day drive each way and 4 days staying with my dad it was good to be home. At nearly 86 my Dad is doing ok - he has cancer that they won't bother to touch - he wouldn't survive the operation. He can't walk very far on his own so uses a walking stick and a walker - even then he can't go far. I guess it is just the cycle of life.
MY FIRST BABY TURNS 32
I can't believe that my first baby Melanie turned 32 on Friday.
We went to a restaurant called 'Soy' in Mornington - very yummy.

Here is Melanie pictured with Riley.

Riley kept himself amused watching videos of himself on his Mummy's (Amy) phone. He had nobody to play with as Lachlan and Chloe were with their Dad for the weekend.

LOVE HOW HE EATS

Wouldn't you love to be able to just shove your food in your mouth like Riley - maybe just once.
Saturday night we babysat this little treasure as Amy and Ryan went to see Cirque De Soleil.

I think this dirty faced urchin will wonder in years to come how come his Grandma put a girls bib/feeder on him.

IN THE GARDEN

Found this insect on my lemon tree on the weekend.

Love the colours of Autumn/Fall

Congrats to your baby! Today 30 years ago my husband and I kissed for the very first time. At that time I thought 30 years was aged, not to say super old. I couldn't even think that anyone could do something for 30 years! Good to hear that your dad is still doing ok given circumstances. And yes I can see the circle of life very clear here. As you enjoy the autumn colors we are enjoying the fresh greens of spring. Have a nice day!

Glad your Dad's OK, I was wondering how things were going. As my 82 year old Dad would say - the not being able to get around is All Part of the Aging Process, as long as they're living somewhere they want to be, that's the main thing.
Happy Birthday to Melanie!! Little Riley is growing more adorable everyday.

Loved your Autmn photos, looks like another beautiful day here today

I'm glad you returned safely...I feel horrible for your father.. I hope his spirits are okay...I know often times at work the elderly get very frustrated when they can't walk. It's so hard for them..I hope you're doing okay also... Happy late Birthday to Melanie...That little Riley is just so darn cute...
Have a wonderful week..

Alison, my Dad is in the same place as yours although he is 93 - somewhat frail but totally together mentally. Riley is adorable as is your daughter, xv.

Hi Alison,
I hope Melanie had a great birthday, looks like you all had fun.
I was wondering how your dad was going, I know that the situation in not fabulous but as least he sounds happy.
Riley is such a cutie, although I am glad that my two are past the hands in food stage...although it is rather funny to watch as they squish their way through a meal.
Hugs,

hope your dad is ok and more that you are ok, it's stressful when family has illness, even if you don't think it is, I am dealing with a similar thing right now...
