A SUNNY SUNDAY

Fabulous Autumn/Fall weather and a picnic lunch on Sunday.

Sometimes you just have to get out of the house. For me that was Sunday.
Max and I went for a drive over the other side of the Mornington Peninsula to Westernport Bay.

We stopped off at Hastings and watched
‘the world’ go by.

Lots of families walking down the pier and also feeding the pelicans.

Next we went to Flinders and just sat in the sun and relaxed.
I love the length of this pier.

From on top we could look down and see this.
See my shadow taking this photo,

Watched the fishermen coming in and then putting their boats onto their trailers.
Love this one using his red tractor.

I zoomed in with my little camera and saw some resourceful fishermen using an old ironing board that they topped with timber to clean up their fish.
From the photo above you can see one of them
carrying 2 white
buckets and heading to where they put the board.

Great way to use an old ironing board

I did zoom in a lot with this so it's not very clear.

There is really so much to see and do on the Mornington Peninsula

Thankyou Alison for the marvellous pictures. I especially love the one with the close-up of the boats. There's something about boats that I really like. Their form and colour I think. I have a couple of charm-sized watercolours of boats that I did awhile ago and I thought that if you like boats too that I could send you a charm containing one.Let me know?
Glad to be part of the gorgeous day you had, Angela.

I could have sat there all day. Just BEAUTIFUL!! It's a good thing I don't live close to an ocean, as I believe I would spend most of my days there and I wouldn't get anything accomplished.
Thanks for sharing!
Hugs!

Hi Allison, I never saw anyone use a tractor to pull their boat in before. LOL I used to love to fish with my father at the beach. We would sit for hours in beach chairs casting into the surf. And I was the one that ran around trying to find some kind of board that had washed up on shore for cleaning our caught fish on. Fabulous memories. :)

Hi Alison! What a beautiful Fall day. The calm water is so peaceful. That ironing board is actually really smart - keeps their backs from getting sore from bending over to clean all the fish. The water looks so crystal clear - so pretty! Thanks for sharing your wonderful pictures.

You and Max are the description of diversity. One post he's swimming and running and biking and what not and the next the two of you are lolling around the Peninsula. Congrats on the impending marriage. I love catching up with you.

What a beautiful day! Those photos are breathtaking! I'm always amazed at how "blue" everyone elses' ocean photos are. I think the northern Atlantic is pretty much gray/blue. Must be your climate which keeps the water down there so vivid and pretty!
