MR POSTMAN ~ COUSINS ~ HALLOWEEN

THE POSTMAN KNOCKED TWICE

Time to sit back with a coffee, tea or a glass of wine and see what the Postman brought to me.
I bought these beautiful Wreaths - in my favourite Shabby Chic colours from the oh so talented Natasha. Check out her blog or look in her shop. She has some lovely things for you to buy. I have also ordered some more of her gorgeous goodies ~ an Angel, a White Dove, a Pink Dove and also some pretty stars.
My next package contained - the 1st Prize in Jeanne at Dream, Create, Inspire 300th Post Giveaway. A fabulous Little Witch Hazel Bottle. My first ever win in a Giveaway. Thanks so much Jeanne I just love the bottle and the Cute Little Witch.
Riley got to meet up with his cousins yesterday. I went with my daughter Melanie and her children Lachlan and Chloe over to Amy's house so as they could visit with their new little cousin. I love this photo that I took of Lachlan 5, looking in at Riley. So sweet!
The next photo shows Chloe 3, nursing Riley. She has such a funny little smile on her face. She thinks she is so grown up. When Riley dirtied his nappy she went off into his nursery and came out with a nappy and wipes and said she was going to change him. I think if we had let her she probably could have done it.
COSTUMES FOR HALLOWEEN
Lachlan and Chloe took their Halloween Costumes with them to show Amy. Of course they had to put them on. Chloe didn't have her little black tights, so when they are on her costume looks more complete. They are loving the idea of Halloween.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME

HOME AGAIN
After spending 4 days helping Amy and Ryan settle in with Riley I am home again.
It was wonderful to be able to help them. I had forgotten how much washing a baby can create.
This photo shows Riley getting some daylight on him though the window as he was a little jaundiced. Amy and Ryan's other little boy 11 month old Leroy(he has curly hair like Natasha's darling Leroy) -a spoodle is looking though the door.
I enjoyed being able to help out at Amy's but there is no place like home. Trouble is after leaving Max and Michael at home alone I now have to clean up. Oh well - that's life.
Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments on Riley's arrival. He is one loved little man.

GOING HOME

A New Branch of the Family Begins
This morning Amy & Ryan have taken Riley home. Now their life as a family begins.
They have asked me to come and stay for a few days to help out - so of course I said yes.
Below is a photo I took of them yesterday. As Riley had a pretty rough entry into the world Amy has been advised to keep him snuggled up to her - even under her top to help him get used to his new life.
What an adventure has now begun for the three of them.
BOTHER!!!!! BLOGGER!!!!!!!I CAN'T UPLOAD MY PHOTO!!!!!
I WILL ADD THE PHOTO LATER

IT'S A BOY- RILEY JOSHUA

FINALLY
Amy went into labour at 7.30am on Thursday and this morning Friday at 12 minutes past midnight she had a little boy named Riley Joshua. It was a long labour that had difficulties at the end but all seems well. Not sure what weight as when I left at 1.00am he had still not been weighed. No photos yet as he was still a bit messy when I left.

Update No.1- Spoke to Amy at 8.30 this morning and Riley weighs 7lb 13ozs.
Update No2- Photo of Amy and Riley that I took this afternoon. Couldn't get an open eye shot.

POOR AMY IS STILL WAITING

AS THE GAME SHOW HOST SAYS - COME ON DOWN
~The Baby that is!
It is now Thursday morning. The baby was due on Monday and by now Amy is sooo… over it… the waiting that is.
Monday I went and had lunch with her, then we hit the shops. Lots of walking around and still no action!!!!! I took a baby belly photo to add to her collection. I figured she should have one taken on her due date.
Tuesday she spent just sitting around and playing games on the computer. She was sooo.. bored.
Wednesday she had an appointment with the Accountant to do her Tax return. I was sure that would be enough to bring on the labour!!!LOL But no such luck. Then she went to visit her girlfriend who had a baby on 1st October. Everyone said what if you go into labour??? Her answer was simple – I will pull over and ring Mum and she will come and get me.
Hopefully today the phone will ring and she will have started.

I THINK SOMEONE FORGOT TO TELL THE BABY

!!!!!!!!!!..........WE ARE WAITING ............!!!!!!!!!!
Today is the day Amy's baby is due but I think someone must have forgotten to tell it we are all waiting. Maybe it's a girl - and still getting ready OR a boy thats a bit lazy and dawdling along. I am off to Amy's for lunch today so maybe I better take her for a bumpy drive to get it moving along.
I made this cute little .... I don't know what you'd call it mixed media collage maybe?? Any way I was having a bit of a practice at making something like this for when Amy's baby comes along. The background is painted pale pink with a hint of pale green added. I love the vintage sequinned trim I put on the top. I think it is cute but now I have to work out where to hang it.

WEDNESDAYS GREAT BUY

OP SHOP FIND
This morning I was dropping some things off to a local Op(Opportunity) Shop, so I thought I would wander in and see if there was something I might like.
There was a stack of music sheets and books on a table - some pages missing here and there.
No price stickers or tags. Well I thought why not just pick it up and then I'll ask at the counter.
I also saw this cute little (6 inch)Italian made metal frame with a gorgeous sweet faced girl with a basket of roses. At $4 I decided I would have her.
The bargain of the morning was the sheet music.
!!!!........ $2 ..............!!!!
It was my lucky day.
5 DAYS TO GO...............
Amy is now totally sick of herself. The baby is due on Monday. Every time the phone rings I think to myself this is it. Time to rock and roll!!!!!
I have everything up to date so as I can go to her when she rings - well nearly.
Washing, ironing,a couple of dinners made and put into the freezer all done.
Housework - well nearly, once I get off here I will get back to it.

GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING
The sun is shining and it looks like a beautiful day is ahead.
This morning I went out to have a coffee on the deck at about 7.30 and the sun was just streaming through the back corner of the garden. I love the way it streams through the Silver Birch.
I just love the red of the branches of the Japanese maple and the red on the Weeping Lilly Pilly behind

11 DAYS TO GO FOR THE DUE DATE
OF AMY'S BABY

I took this photo of Amy yesterday afternoon.
She is looking sooo... tired.
She has finally packed a bag to take to the hospital.
The nursery is ready.
Looks like she has dropped a bit so here's hoping it comes early for her.

PAPER DRESS SWAP

PAPER DRESS SWAP

These are the Paper Dresses that I sent to Tine in the Swap organised by Heather.

I love this little
Shabby Chic Party Dress
Sorry the pic is so bright but in reality it is quite cute. The pink is a lovely soft pink and the white top is embossed with silver. The sleeves had satin edging with glitter added. The neckline had pink glitter and a little silver flower pendant.
The Halloween style dress was harder to photograph as the the tuille/net cape kept giving off weird reflections.

I mailed Tine (from Germany) her dresses last Tuesday and she had them by Friday. Usually we all complain about the service we get from Australia Post but this time they did a great job.
When I get the dresses from Tine I will post a photo for you to see.
