OH CHRISTMAS TREE..OH CHRISTMAS TREE & WE HAVE A WINNER

OH CHRISTMAS TREE
Oh Christmas tree
why did you have to go cream???
Last Sunday I was going to put up my 'White Christmas Tree'
I opened the box and screamed - my white tree had become white AND CREAM!!
After much and I mean MUCH whinging "How could this be???"
Just look at the cream leaves on top of the white in the above photo.

Then I realised if all the creams could be together - just how they have been for the last few years and facing the afternoon summer sun and heat of an Australian Christmas - then that is how they turned cream.
I was so annoyed I just chucked it back in the box.

So yesterday I decided I had sooked enough and it was time to get it out again and just place the cream to the back and against the window to face another Aussie Summer
I decided that as it was so late going up I would just use my silver and white decorations.

I love this battenburg lace angel with her little pearl head

Here is another one holding a blue flower and it is next to Riley's decoration.
Everyone in the family has their name on a silver christmas ball.

Pretty ballerina changes colour as the sun shines through the window

Here is my cute Vintage Santa Wreath on the bookshelf next to Barbara Jacksier's wonderful book Waterside Cottages. I love that there is a wreath on the book cover next to my Vintage one

This sweet Santa is on my hutch next to the photo my Grandad is in.

Angel with presents next to my milk glass lamp

This beautiful silver Fairy is on top of my christmas tree

This photo was taken last night. So hard to take a decent photo of the tree in the window.
As much as I hate the timber blinds behind it, they are the only thing that works on that window. The sun is so intense in that window that 2 pair of drapes have faded so badly over the last 6 years that the timber blinds were a last resort.

This one is with the lights on

This is one I took today in the daytime light

I love these cream felt angels that hang down one of my doors

AND THE WINNER IS...........
Kylie was comment No. 19

Kylie is the winner of a $90 voucher from Buysterrugs.

Oh Goodness me!
WOW santas come early to me!!
Thanks so much....
Your tree looks beautiful even with the cream "bits",I wonder if you could spray it with bleach and sit it in the sun in attempt to resote whiteness for next year???

That is no good about your tree (not that we can tell in your photos as it still looks magnificent!). I have seen a few out there in blog land mention this happen to them too. Love the baubles with names!

Awe Alison...it is still a VERY lovely tree! Just think of it as turning "vintage" in a good sort of way ;)
There is always white spray paint to fix that too~

Alison~Your photos are gorgeous! I just love the white & silver tree & the little white angels stole my heart! I pulled out a white tree this year only to have it look dirty! No time to spray paint it so back in the box until next year when I hopefully get an earlier start! Happy Holidays to you & your family~xo chris

I think your tree looks great, especially that shot with the lights and I'm sure it's more impressive in "real life".

Never mind about the tree Alison, your solution was a good one, or you could have done the reverse so next year you had a completely cream tree?

Love your decorations, I must try and get into it this week, not feeling at all enthused!

Alison, your tree looks gorgeous!!! i have some things that don't look so hot in the back anymore because they are facing a window and the sun faded them...i just don't look at that...problem solved:)

Your tree looks absolutely stunning to me. Actually, beige and white is a very good combination. You could play on that theme by adding white and beige ornaments!

Congrats to lucky Kylie!
Same thing happened to my white tree, but I quite like it because the cream suits the "vintagey" ornaments I have on it. I think your tree looks gorgeous, cream/white and all!

Mmm! I wonder what material that white tree is made of, I visited Sarah at "A beach cottage" and her white tree has "yellowed" too. However, you've done a good job decorating it, it looks good with all the lights on.

Aaarrrggghhh! That's a drag about your tree! I have a small white (repro) feather tree, and mine is turning cream/rust/brown too....but it's because of moisture in the air (definitely not hot sun here on the "wet coast" of Canada! LOVE your angel tree topper!!!.....well everything else too! *smiles* ~Jen
